The Game Plan
Three MUST HAVES are crucial for achieving and maintaining a fit and healthy body - Nutrition (what you eat, how much and when); Strength Training (using free weights, weight machines, bands, balls—even your body weight—to push against your muscles); and Cardiovascular Activity (exercising your heart and burning calories by elevating metabolism).
Now add this: Accountability and Motivation. No system can guarantee you success. For that, you must be either extremely self-motivated or have someone push you and hold you accountable for the responsibility of your own workouts!
The number one reason most people fail to hit their weight loss and fitness targets is because they don’t incorporate ALL these principals into their program.

Let’s Talk Diet
Workouts mean nothing without good nutrition. No food contains all the nutrients you need. Foods however have specific functions that you need to combine for a well-balanced diet. If yours is nutritionally poor, you’re asking for trouble—in and out of the gym. Requirements vary, but everyone needs a good diet. Hands down, it’s the cornerstone of any fat-loss or muscle-gaining program.
Eating 5, 6, even 7 equal-size portions every three hours throughout the day is the most effective way of keeping your metabolism stoked for burning calories and getting lean.
Hit That Iron
There’s no way around it: You’ve got to lift weights if you want definition. Blast your biggest muscles—chest, back, especially legs—hard to release vital growth hormones. Shock them even more with heavy weights, forced reps and drop sets to boost your intensity and increase muscle-building protein synthesis. All this kicks your anabolic machinery into overdrive during the rebuilding phase—the time your muscles really grow.
Our programs maximize calorie burning while adding lean muscle. Most emphasize high volume, intensity and frequency by mixing low (6-10) and high (10-15) repetitions with little rest between sets. The lower heavier reps add muscle density for boosting metabolism, assisting fat-burning, and definition. The higher lighter reps directly elevate the heartrate for fat-burning.
Run For Your Life
If you do 20 minutes on the treadmill before your workout you’ve got it backwards. Here’s why. First, you jumped off the treadmill just when you started getting into bodyfat. Your muscles hold less than a half hour supply of glycogen (blood sugar); at that point cardio shifts into burning fat. Aerobics classes are predicated on that very fact. That’s why they’re 45 minutes: the first 20 minutes burn off the glucose, the next 25 burn off the fat. So do cardio after your workout (HIIT), when your sugar’s depleted. You’ll go straight into fat-burning mode, and need only around 20 intense minutes. To maximize the thermogenic effect use interval training that alternates fast and slow bouts of max effort. Of-course this is just the basics, we do tons of tricky business behind the scene to assure your body get the quality changes you’re looking for!
Cardio is BEST performed BEFORE breakfast or IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWING a workout!
