FOR THE NEXT 7 DAYS: EAT ONLY HOME COOKED MEALS.
Home cooked meals are better for your health. Now, I know for most people, eating every meal at home isn’t possible. But instead of picking up a drive thru lunch or hitting the workplace cafeteria, take your homemade lunch with you to work. That means three meals per day that were all cooked in the kitchen of your very own home.
Research from Johns Hopkins shows that when people eat food they make at home, they eat fewer carbs and less sugar than those who ate out or bought ready made meals. And the home cookers end up with a more balanced diet and higher amounts of vitamins and minerals.
Home cooking also lets you control what ingredients you eat to avoid any highly processed foods or mystery ingredients. And eating from home is typically significantly cheaper than eating out. Of course this depends on where you eat out at, but researchers show that it’s cheaper to make your own food at home, even when you compare it to fast food value menu items.
